Pudge Rothwell's Beer Bread

It's different-but good. It's moist from the stick of butter. You will not get drunk from the can of beer-the alcohol disappeared with the baking of 350 degrees for 1 hour.

3 cups self-rising flour or
3 cups all-purpose flour, white or wheat and 2 tablespoons baking powder, and 1 teaspoon salt
1 egg
12 ounces beer
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 stick butter or margarine, melted in loaf pan
Mix all ingredients together except butter in bowl. Slowly pour batter into loaf pan over the butter so that melted butter rises to top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
