Tomato Gravy

Most Southerners call gravy by it's name - "GRAVY." Some folks from other parts of the country call it sauce. We all have enjoyed great gravy/sauce recipes made with many different ingredients, but few have tried just plain tomato gravy. This recipe will put some moisture and spice into your main dish, and it's good for you.

Peel and cut tomatoes into a bowl, reserving the juice.
In a sauce pan, melt butter Add flour and stir until browned.
Gradually add water.
Stir in tomatoes and juice. Add milk, salt and pepper.
Simmer for 15 minutes.

Serve over hot buttermilk biscuits or any other kind of food where something is missing.
