Chef Noah's Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream

4 large eggs

1-1/4 cups sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 pint light cream

1 pint whipping cream

2 pints half-and-half

8 teaspoons vanilla

 

Beat the eggs and add the sugar gradually. Beat until the mixture is very stiff. Add the remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly. Pour into a 1-gallon container and freeze.

This is called the hill country ice cream because the recipe came from the Texas hill country.
